A Fresh Start

Our first attempt at blogging was pretty much a fail...kinda like our first year of marriage. We thought life would be simple after we moved to Alaska so we could get better jobs and not have to worry about money anymore. Boy were we wrong. Our car first froze which caused a leak in our oil pan to expand causing our car to catch on fire. We then had to buy a new car because it was now February, and it was -50. We were also having difficulties finding jobs that we could enjoy going to that paid enough to help us make bills every month. Every time we found a good paying job something would happen, and we would find ourselves being close to fired for being Mormon or other random stupid reasons. I also was sick (which we just found out is endometriosis) which caused us not to be able to have sex. So between all money, car, and lack of a love life our marriage was far from stable and neither of us wanted to admit it. We didn't like to tell the other one things that they did that hurt our feelings because we didn't want to make things worse. After finally hitting rock bottom and talking about divorce we finally lost it and told each other everything they had done to hurt the other one. After realizing how stupid we were being we decided to give things another go because we were now approaching our anniversary and what better way to start a new of marriage than to forget the first year and completely restart and pick up year two out of the ashes. Ben is now working at the Cardiology department for the hospital as a receptionist and is making enough so I can stay home and try to get my migraines under control. We are sharing a basement apartment with 3 other people so we can cut down on bills and try to save money. We also bought a new 2010 Kia Forte so we won't have to worry about break downs for at least 5 years thanks to warranty! I just had surgery, and recovery has been a lot easier than we thought it would be. Ben is applying for college this week so we can finally get his schooling started. We are also saving up money to buy a house to fix up and working on getting our credit better. Overall year two has been a success granted its only been a month and a half, but thats a month and a half of no fighting. So now we're trying the blog again.... So here's to fresh starts I can't wait to see where this road leads.
